Mainstay Partners was founded in 2002 to create a boutique consultancy focused strictly on high-impact, senior-level executive search on behalf of private equity investors. Its principals had previously been part of a large, global search firm.
From 2002 - 2005, the firm focused largely on venture capital portfolio work, particularly in technology and tech-enabled services. In 2005, it merged with Mosaic Management Solutions, a firm with a similar industry/functional focus.
Beginning in 2006, the firm formed specialty practices to align itself better with its private equity clients. It also expanded its international capabilities through the formation of key international alliances in EMEA and the Asia/Pacific.
Today, Mainstay serves a select, international clientele comprised of leading private equity investors, venture capital firms, and family groups and corporates.
